Plate Up Ballarat is an exciting month-long event celebrating Ballarat’s wonderful food offerings, craft beers, boutique wines and a whole lot more. Taking place throughout the month of May 2019, Plate Up Ballarat will showcase local producers whilst also promoting successful and supportive connections between producers, restaurants and cafes.
This year, in support of men’s mental health & Beyond Blue, Plate Up Ballarat will host “Ballarat Blokes Who Bake” - If you’re a bloke who loves to bake (or know of one), please register your interest below. We’re so excited to showcase your incredible, artistic creations!
WHAT TO EXPECT IN 2019…
Continuing our theme of sustainability, this year we introduce Plant Up Ballarat with many venues and events focusing on plant based eating, and the indelible link between nutrition and wellness.
Sometimes though, food is just about comfort, and there is nothing more comforting than a classic toastie. But be prepared for some creative spins on old classics as part of Toast of Ballarat – and keep an eye out for the official toastie mascot designed by Ballarat’s own street artist in residence Travis Price.
With more than 50 events spanning the 31 days of May, your biggest choice will be not which events to go to, but which ones you have to leave out of your culinary calendar for May!
However, Plate Up Ballarat is more than just culinary events… You also get the chance to sample something different every day, through our Lunch Ltd menus at participating venues.
Plate Up Ballarat would not happen without the support of a vibrant, innovative and engaged industry - to the hundreds of people in hundreds of businesses we say ‘Thank You’. This is all about getting not just Ballarat, but the rest of Australia behind how amazing you all are.
